Arthritis is an inflammation of the joints of the body, and it may occur in one or more joints of the body.

The inflammation may be very severe, making it difficult to move completely and the person with severe chronic pain. Arthritis is a common disease that affects everyone, whether young or old. Inflammation of the joints is not related to a specific age, as it may affect a person in childhood or youth, but it is more common in old age. It is a chronic disease, due to the difficulty in treating it, as treatment of arthritis may require long periods until it is fully cured.
There are several types of joint diseases, including rheumatoid arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial arthritis, gout arthritis, red lupus arthritis, and inflammation caused by joint joints.
Causes of arthritis
There are many causes and factors that cause a person to develop arthritis:
- Age: As people who develop arthritis develop it after the age of forty, as the bones become less rigid and become fragile as a result of a lack of calcium, vitamins, and minerals in the body, which directly affects the joints. Therefore, you must take precautions and take the necessary vitamins after the age of forty to maintain calcium and vitamins in the body.
- Genetics: Genetics play a major role in a person’s arthritis infection, for people with a family history of the disease are more likely than others to develop this disease. People with a family history of arthritis can also develop arthritis at a young age.
- Gender: Women have arthritis more than men, especially after the end of the menstrual cycle, where women are exposed to a change in hormones, in addition to that pregnancy and lactation greatly affect the calcium and vitamins in a woman’s body which causes her arthritis.
- Weight gain: Excess weight also causes pressure on the bones and joints, causing joint infections. Also, putting your joints under severe stress, such as exercising extreme sports and standing for long periods of time, or carrying heavy things.
Patients feel tired and permanently tired, feeling very hot especially in women over 40 years of age. Also not being able to move well, feeling severe pain in the joints when moving or standing for long periods, and when the condition progresses, the patient feels very severe pain in the joints, even while sitting without making any effort. You also feel severe joint pain during the changing seasons and especially the weather, and joint pain usually increases in the winter, as cold weather causes joint flexibility and increases swelling. You also feel severe pain in the area around the joint, and this area reddened unevenly, the more inflammations in the joint, the more redness appears in the area surrounding it. The patient also felt severe pain and stiffness in the swollen joint when waking up in the morning, and this feeling of stiffness decreases after movement. Some types of arthritis cause a rash, but this is not very common. Finally, the patient is exposed to swelling and redness of the joint, especially when carrying out violent activities with the hands or feet, such as opening a heavily closed bottle cap or carrying heavy objects, or standing for a long time on the feet.
Arthritis is treated by taking drugs and medicinal preparations that help reduce the situation and its swelling, and this type of drug is not taken except under the supervision of a doctor in order to determine the patient’s condition and the dose needed. Treatment is also done by painting the joints with ointments that help relieve pain. Bones and joints can be painted with camphor oil, as it contains natural analgesics that relieve joint pain and reduce swelling. The patient should also lose weight if she is obese, and do simple exercises that help to strengthen the muscles and reduce their swelling. The patient can also use cold and hot water compresses, cold water helps reduce joint swelling, and warm water helps relax muscles and joints and then relieve pain.
